You walked into the room
Joined an aimless conversation
I liked what you had to say
And found myself glancing your way
Then suddenly out of nowhere
It caught me unaware
Didnt know where it came from
I couldn’t say a word it kinda struck me dumb

It was a feeling
Came bubbling up
Just bubbling up
From the inside
A feeling
Quite a surprise
To discover
That I had tears in my eyes

We walked a path together for a while
I was happy to have you by my side
And every now and then I’d see you anew
And get overwhelmed by the sight of you
I never really quite expected
It would sneak up on me, I never suspected
It always left me feeling kinda shy
But I never hid the tear in my eye

I used to the kind of man who proudly never cried
Whatever feelings I might have had I kept them the deep inside
I hardly knew I had an inner life until you handed me a key
Now it feels like I've been introduced to missing parts of me


It ended quite a while ago
I’m Ok with that and I hope you know
That every memory that I have of you
Is a happy one and yes it’s still true
That sometimes when I recall your face
Or remember some special time and place
A feeling comes from out of nowhere
Feelings bout the life that we once shared
